We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Habilitation Provider/Attending Care Provider/ Respite Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. As a Provider, you will play a crucial role in delivering supportive services that promote independence and improve quality of life for clients in both home and community settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in daily living activities (ADLs) to foster independence.
- Implement individualized habilitation plans that focus on skill development, behavioral management, and social integration.
- Utilize effective communication skills to engage with clients and their families, ensuring clear understanding of goals and progress.
- Assist clients in navigating community resources and activities, promoting inclusion and participation in social events.
- Collect and document data on client progress, behaviors, and needs to inform ongoing support strategies.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers and behavioral health professionals, to deliver comprehensive care.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and personal growth
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is essential.
- Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is an asset for effective communication with clients who are non-verbal or have hearing impairments.
- Experience in behavior management techniques and strategies is preferred.
- Proven ability to provide home and community care while assisting clients with daily living tasks.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with the ability to drive clients safely to various locations as needed.
- Proficiency in data collection methods relevant to client support and progress tracking.
